Steven Franklin is Principal Trumpet of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and an award-winning classical and film composer.
He has performed as Guest Principal Trumpet with some of the finest orchestras in the world, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and was formerly a member of the Kansas City Symphony and New World Symphony Orchestra.
His original compositions have been performed internationally. He has been commissioned by ensembles such as the American Brass Quintet, and members of the Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Phoenix Symphonies, the New York Philharmonic, as well as many distinguished music schools, including the Curtis Institute of Music, University of Michigan, Michigan State, Vanderbilt University, University of Illinois, and Bowling Green State University, among others.
He has also scored multiple feature length films, including The Last Parable and The Author. His compositional style has been lauded for its warm and melodic approach.
Steven resides outside St. Louis, Missouri with his wife, Naomi.
